For as long as I’ve known the Vammen family, I have heard funny, loving stories from the children. Their memories of orange marmalade and her boxed wine always made me laugh and remember my own grandma. While I didn’t know Gladys, the warmth that came from those shared memories makes me sad to know her great grandchildren won’t get to share their parents experiences. God bless this family, and keep Gods love and mercy near. Love Angel

My husband and I knew Gladys and her good friend Sally Greenwood when we all lived at Audubon Court Apartments so many years ago. We were saddened to hear of Gladys' passing but glad to have seen it in the Pottstown Mercury. Possibly Gladys and Sally are at it again. Sally passed almost four years ago. Blessings to the family.

Chuck and Connie,
I am so sorry to hear of your mothers passing, may she rest in peace. I will pray for her and offer my condolences to you both.
I'm sorry we live apart as I would be there for her funeral as you were my extended family growing up.
I'm sure my mom and Gladys will be reminiscing in Heaven together of all their good times.
God Bless you all!

Our sincere sympathy to Gladys' family. I'm Lowell, one of Gladys' cousins. I have some fond memories of her. Our family-wide reunion in the early 1950's. I was only about 9 yrs old when our family attended her wedding, a very lovely bride. She came all the way from Pennsylvania to attend a family reunion commemorating the 100 year anniversary (1993) of our settler grandparents Arnt and Martha building and living in a dugout-sod-front house. Hjalmer was born in that house. Also our visit with Gladys, Connie & Chuck in Orlando (2017). A great lady, proud to be part of the family!

Mom mom you will always be in my heart I love you with all my heart. You were an amazing woman And I hope to be just like you. You made me a better woman by raising such an amazing woman with lots of love in her heart. And she raised me the same way to accept everyone no matter what they looked like or believed in. To have a heart full of love for the people around you. I love you mom mom and will miss you dearly.
