Obituary of Martha Inez Turner

Martha Turner, 91, passed away Saturday October 17, 2020 surrounded by her loving family. She was born November 9, 1928 in Warrior, AL to George H. Thomas and Ruby I. Thomas. She resided in Cocoa/Rockledge/Merritt Island for the past 66 years. She was predeceased by the love of her life, Clarence Turner, in June 2010 after 61 years of marriage. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Rockledge and was well known throughout the community for her sewing and crocheting hobby. Martha’s family cherished her passionate love for her family and friends and her zest for life. Martha was the oldest of seven children and leaves behind a son, Frank Turner (Karen); a daughter, Dora Fordham (James); a brother, Floyd Thomas; a sister Reba Jo Barber; a sister Margaret Turner; a sister Nora Lee Loggins; six grandchildren, Cindy Butler (Ronnie), Frank Turner (Kathy), Christopher Turner (Rachael), Jennifer Richards (Steve), Brandon Fordham (Kandis), and Sarah Willey (Eric); eight great-grandchildren, Brittany Barnette (Alec), Michael Houston Turner, Grace Turner, Abigail Turner, Cali Butler, Logan Turner, Kaden Richards, and Kayla Willey. Martha is also survived by her great-great-grandchildren Laylah Harmon and Leo Barnette. A public viewing with service to follow will be held at 2pm Friday October 23, 2020 at Atlantic Mortuary, 117 Barton Ave Rockledge, FL 32955. A reception with refreshments will follow the ceremony at the First Baptist Church of Rockledge at 1810 Cedar Street, Rockledge, FL 32955.
