If you knew Mark then you knew he could be a little rough around the edges but that's ok. God called men out to be leaders and bold for their families. Mark was just that and was an anchor for the Garrett family.
He was strong and I smile every time I think about how he proved the hospice people wrong time and time again when they gave him X number of days.
We saw Mark a few times this past year, he always went out of his way to say hi and had a smile on his face despite all he was going through. He loved to see Alex and show him toys and cars.
Marks Legacy. Just take a drive around the county and you will see many things still standing that Mark and his company built. One of the coolest is the stadium which I have very fond memories of growing up.
But nothing will outshine is kids. Yes...his kids are Marks legacy.
Successful Angie. Kind hearted Dusty. My best friend Jeff which I can't say enough good things about and Jeremy with his love for Jesus and kids. Plus many grandchildren. Non of which would be who they are today without the role Mark played in thier lives.
I hope Jesus' promises hold true, Mark is at peace, feels warmth on his face and is traveling the cosmos with Betty.
RIP Mr. Garrett.

In 30 years of ministry, you run into all sorts of people, some you love to remember, some you're happy to forget! Mark lands solidly in the former category - always an encouragement, always a bright spot, always a smile. At a time of his life when he had every reason to complain or wonder 'why me,' he never went there. Instead, he showed joy, shared an encouraging word, and shone like a star (Phil 2:15). Thank you, brother Mark, you made my life better just by knowing you...
